What
is automatic Mist Propagation ?
It
is the technique of keeping the foliage of cuttings covered with a thin
film of moisture and the growing medium damp but not wet. Our electronic
misting controllers do this automatically by sensing weather conditions
and adjusting the misting rate accordingly. Healthier growth results
because:
-
Maximum light and warmth can be allowed into the glasshouse without
"burning" the foliage.
-
Lower
leaf temperatures reduce dehydration.
-
High
humidity is maintained in glasshouse or igloo.
What
is "Weather Watcher" ?
We developed
our "Weather Watcher" sensor to overcome problems with the evaporative
leaf sensorsprimarily the build up of residue on the sensor due
to the evaporative process. The "WW" sensor measures both light
intensity and air temperature within the growing area and adjusts the
misting rate as these 2 factors vary. Light is the overriding factor so
that at night misting normally stops. Advantages are:
- No "leaf"
or delicate tipping arm sensors to clutter your bench or maintain.
- Automatically
adjusts to weather conditions- no clocks to set.
- Adjustable sensor
controlyou set a rate to suit your crop/glasshouse conditions.
- Unaffected by
quality of water.

Models Available
Please note
We have discontinued production of both the single and four station
misting units. We have developed a "Weather Watcher" sensor
to go onto our Cloudmaster irrigation controller, thus combining misting
and irrigation functionality into the one control unit. We will be servicing
and supporting existing units well into the future.
SINGLE-AREA:
|

|
|
- This unit
has a 12mm (30 nozzles max) or 20mm (60 nozzles max) bronze
solenoid valve built into the unit.
- Sensor
is inside the unit - no wires on bench among plants.
- Mounts
on the plumbing for simple installation. A 240v power point
is all that is required in the glasshouse
|
MULTI-AREA
4 STATION:
- For the
larger scale propagator who grows in open-air beds or in a series
of 2 or more glasshouses or igloos.
- This unit
provides a cycle of four 24v outputs to standard solenoid valves
situated some distance away providing flexibility of operation
and maximum use of water supply.
- Each station
can be set to 'Auto' (sensor controlled), 'Off' (station does
not mist) or 'On' (continually mists till manually switched
back).
- A 'function'
switch allows the whole cycle to be set the same way as above.
- A meter
indicates the current misting rate set by the knob.
